Save time and make documents accessible with accessibilityfixer
Comply fully with EU requirements
The EU’s directive “Accessibility of public website and mobile applications” came into effect on 23 September 2018 and means, among other things, that all documents placed on public websites must be accessible to people with disabilities.
The directive requires that documents (including PDFs) are marked up correctly such that screen readers can find and access necessary information about the content, as described in W3C’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). This includes descriptive text for each image, logo, or graphic element, and for tables, links, etc.
The challenge is time
It is a time-intensive operation for users to manually scour documents and ensure their accessibility. Part of the task can be automated by using the right templates, but each time a user copies and pastes, or creates pictures, tables, and links, etc. the user must remind themselves to provide alternative text and descriptions.
Make it easy for users to improve accessibility
With accessibilityfixer it becomes easy and quick for users to control and improve the accessibility of their Word documents, before converting them to PDF format and placing them online.
The solution checks each document and shows the user where and how accessibility can be optimised; then makes it easy to provide alternative text and descriptions, etc.
